The same problem here. I was told that I would receive the car in about four months. Now the time is here and I'm carless. My salesman is named Frank. I believe that it's not the dealers but rather Mr. Ancira himself. I hope to get my car soon but I believe that the dealer should be truthful about the time it will take to get the car. Something is up because everyone that buys a PT Cruiser here is waiting. If I would have known I would have gone to buy it somewhere else.

I ordered my Cruiser in April and was told it would be about 8-12 weeks. Of course, at that time, no one really knew how long it was going to be. Not the dealers fault. As far as I can see, the dealer has been honest and forthright. They had a car there to test drive which was nice. They also showed me all the colors the PT cruiser would come in on Jeeps which was helpful. They sold me the car at MSRP and did not try to pressure me into anything I didn't want. I have read some wonderful stories about dealers who go out of their way to communicate with the customers on the status of their orders. Don't expect this from Ancira. My salesperson, Joe, was good about returning phone calls and but you will have to initiate those contacts... I have never had a phone call from them to update me or keep me informed unless I called them and left a message. They do not seem to have as large of an allocation as the Chrysler dealer on 410 by Ingram but I expect that will pick up soon.
I try not to call more than once a month. I called in August and was told I was #15 and with their current allocation that it would probably be just one more month until my car would be built. I called in mid September and was told I was #6 on the list, which made me happy but was told that Ancira was having some sort of problem/issue/diagreement/or something with Chrysler and as a result of this, Chrysler was not going to schedule Ancira any build dates for October. The salesperson was kind and cordial and told me he would call me if anything changed but didn't expect anything to happen until November (6-7 months after I ordered).
Ok Bottom line, if you are looking at ordering a PT Cruiser from Ancira, you might want to make sure they are out of trouble with Chrysler.

I had the same experience as Kim (Report ID# 196). I ordered my Cruiser on March 27th and was given the same 8-12 weeks story. My Cruiser is suppose to arrive in San Antonio today - 4 MONTHS AND 8 DAYS from the date of ordering. My next door neighbor ordered his one week before I did from the Chrysler dealer on 410 by Ingram. Although, he paid more than I did, he received his 4 WEEKS ahead of me. (I guess you get what you pay for.) MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT is the same as Kim's - THE LACK OF COMMUNICATION. Chrysler sent us a letter saying please don't bug them, but contact the dealer for the most up-to-date info. I had to DRAG the info out of my salesperson. He only contacted me once on the status of my order. I gave him my cell phone number and asked for only a weekly update - NEVER GOT IT. THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER! I hope Chrysler and the Dealer learns something about customer satisfaction - I won't make the same mistake twice.
